SAFETY
Safety is a very important part of all Lake Okanagan Resort Stables trail rides. Riders get to participate in a practice warm-up before hitting the trail. The time and attention taken in this session helps us provide the most enjoyable and safest ride possible.
We work with all level of riding experience, from the beginner to the experienced rider, wherein during the session we assess each riders ability so that we can work with them at their level. We highlight the importance of balance and posture, followed by showing each rider how to work with their particular horse regarding signals that the horse responds to, including starting, stopping and turning.
Our trail rides are guided and if necessary young riders and nervous adults can be hand led on their horse by our staff both in the riding ring and along the trail to ensure their safety and comfort.
Parents, if not riding, are welcome to accompany their children on the trail on foot. Children as young as 3 have participated in our programs.
