Safety is the most important part of any Lake Okanagan Resort
Stables trail ride and all of our riders receive thorough instruction during our practice warm-up session before hitting the trail.
We work with all levels of riding experience, from the total beginner to the more experienced rider.
During this session, we assess each rider's ability so that we can work with them at their level. We give instruction on the importance of balance and posture for both horse and rider. This is followed by teaching each rider how to work with their particular horse by showing them the signals that the horse
responds to for turns, stops and starts.
Our youngest riders or nervous adults are hand-led on their horse by our staff both in the corral and along the trail to ensure their safety and comfort. Parents are welcome to walk the trail with us. We provide boots and helmets for all of our riders.
The time and attention taken in the warm-up practice session helps us provide the most enjoyable and safest ride possible. You will very likely hear Peter shout out... "This is HORSEBACK RIDING! If you want to be a passenger, let me call you a taxi or get on the bus...it comes with a DRIVER!" |
