Lake Okanagan Resort Stables is a privately-run horseback riding facility, operating on the property of Lake Okanagan Resort. We invite everyone to visit us, irregardless of whether they are staying at Lake Okanagan Resort or anywhere else in the vicinity of Kelowna and the Westside.

We are located on Westside Road, a short scenic drive from Kelowna. We have been in operation in this spectacular location for 21 years, spending the months of April to October here at the stables. In the winter, our horses are leased to families in the area while we winter abroad.

Peter Obstfeld is a horse nut. He fell in love with horses as a boy and worked as a horse shoer, trainer, and riding instructor. His riding philosophy today combines European principles with natural horsemanship principles.

The riding programs at Lake Okanagan Resort Stables are first class. From horse ability to quality of staff and tack, no detail is missed. We are unique in that each rider is thoroughly instructed on their horse in a warm-up session before hitting the trail. We find that this process eliminates many potential safety concerns and ensures the best ride for both horse and rider.

We anticipate another active season of trail and swimming rides this summer.
